What I will not sell you

Every quote you get for a website is a promise about the future. Here is the part most quotes leave out, written before you pay rather than after something goes wrong.

01

Things nobody can promise you

A ranking, a citation or a place in an AI answer
Search engines, answer engines and AI assistants decide independently whether to crawl, index, rank, summarise or cite anything. What I can do is remove the technical reasons to be excluded and make your facts extractable and true. What happens after that is not mine to sell.
A number of leads, calls or sales
A site can be fast, clear and correct and still fail because the offer is wrong or nobody has heard of you. If I think the website is not your actual problem, I will say so before you spend the money.
Approval by a platform
Google verification, Meta ad account approval, merchant verification and app review are decisions those companies make. I can prepare the submission properly. I cannot make them say yes.
Account recovery
If you have lost control of a domain, a page or an account, recovering it is a process run by the platform on its own timetable, and it frequently fails. I can help you try. That is a paid, uncertain effort, not an inclusion.

02

Things that are real work, quoted separately

Legal, tax, privacy and insurance advice
I will tell you which decisions need an adviser and prepare a brief they can work from quickly. I do not draft the documents and I do not give the advice.
Photography, filming and original illustration
Quoted as its own job with its own brief. Supplied and licensed images are included in the build.
Original brand identity and naming
Logo and identity work is quoted separately, as its own job with its own rounds. A website build applies an approved logo you already hold; it does not make one.
Advertising media spend and campaign management
You own the ad account and the spend. Management is a separate monthly service with its own scope.
Ongoing content production
Writing is bought by the piece or inside a care plan. It is never an unbounded inclusion, because unbounded is how both sides end up unhappy.

03

Things I will decline

Customer portals, logins and stored customer records
That is an application, not a website. Different risk, different architecture, different price. I will tell you honestly and point you at someone who builds them.
Sensitive or regulated intake through a standard form
Health, identity and financial records need a data architecture the standard product does not have. It is not a matter of adding a field.
A build where you will not own the accounts
If the accounts sit with me, you have bought a dependency, not an asset. It is not a discount option and it is not negotiable.
Any guarantee I cannot substantiate
If you need someone to promise you page one, someone will. It will not be me, and the promise will not survive contact with the platform.

The point

Why a page like this exists at all

Because the alternative is finding out in month three.

Most of the friction in this industry comes from a gap between what a client reasonably believed they were buying and what the supplier reasonably believed they were selling. Neither party is lying. Nobody wrote it down.

So it is written down, before the money, in the place you are most likely to read it. If any of this is a dealbreaker, that is useful information for both of us, and it costs you nothing to find out now.
